TSRM 2018

Nov. 20, 2018

Prof. Dr. Semra Kahraman gave a talk entitled “Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) Results in Poor, Normal and Hyper-Responder Cases” at the Merck Satellite Symposium moderated by Dr. Diego Ezcurra during the National Reproductive Health and Infertility (TSRM) Congress held at the Titanic Hotel in Antalya Belek between 8-11 November 2018.

In this symposium where the higher participation of all scientific sessions took place, the cases with the highest and lowest success rates were discussed regarding ovarian reserve and female age. Thus, the importance of informing each patient at the very beginning of the treatment according to the individual characteristics was emphasized. In addition, the results of 11.000 biopsies performed on blastocyst stage embryos and analyzed by the next generation sequencing technique were presented. PGD was shown to decrease miscarriage rates by 3-fold in women above or equal to 38 years of age, to decrease multiple pregnancy rates by 32-fold and to increase significantly pregnancy rates in women above 35 years of age when compared to those who did not undergo a PGD cycle.
